The winners of the All-Japan SAMBO Championships will represent the country in international competitions
The All-Japan SAMBO Championships were held on February 5 at the Sumida-ku Sogo Gymnasium in Tokyo. The tournament, held for the 49th time, was attended by athletes from different cities of the country. Competitions were held in Sport SAMBO among men and women, as well as in Combat SAMBO among men. In addition to the winners in each weight category, the MVP of the championship were also determined.

Medals at the tournament were played in 7 weight categories in Sport SAMBO among men, in 3 – among women and in 2 weight categories in Combat SAMBO competitions among men. The winner in each weight category is eligible to represent Japan in international tournaments in 2023.

The title of MVP in Sport SAMBO among men was awarded to Kumazaki (64 kg), and in Combat SAMBO among men to Kimura (88 kg).

According to the organizers, this year the All-Japan SAMBO Championships were live-streamed for the first time.
