Open SAMBO Tournament Roberto Gonzalez Memorial Held in Nicaragua
The Roberto Gonzalez Memorial Open SAMBO Tournament was held on April 18 in Managua. Sambists from Nicaragua and Costa Rica competed for the medals of the competition. According to the organizers, about 100 people attended the event. The competition was broadcast live on the channel of the Nicaraguan Olympic Committee.

“This tournament has become another step towards the development and popularization of SAMBO in Nicaragua. Our national federation continues to spread SAMBO both in our country and in Central America as a whole. At the tournament, the athletes gained invaluable experience of competitive practice, which will be useful to them in future bouts at the international level,” said Kay Useda, President of the Nicaraguan Sambo Federation.

The tournament was held with the support of the Nicaraguan Olympic Committee, the Nicaraguan Sports Institute and the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua.
