Moroccan SAMBO Referees Prepare for International Certification
The Royal Moroccan Federation of SAMBO and Tai Jitsu conducted a National SAMBO Referee Seminar on December 6-7. The event took place at the Derb Ghellef Socio-Educational Center in Casablanca, marking an important step in developing the country's officiating capacity.
The two-day seminar was led by National Technical Director Mohammed Aberouz and directed by International Referee Ali Ouel Djemel, with support from Technical Commission members Mohamed Imad (National SAMBO Coach), Khalid Ait Rabai, and Mohamed Imadou Eddine.

The program centered on reviewing and updating refereeing knowledge in accordance with FIAS regulations. Participants analyzed video footage from various international competitions, which provided practical insights into real-world officiating scenarios.
“The high attendance reflected strong interest among Moroccan referees in advancing their skills and pursuing international-level certification. Participants expressed satisfaction with the training content and format,” noted in a statement from the National SAMBO Federation of Morocco.
Federation President Dalil Skalli addressed the seminar before its conclusion, commending participants for their dedication and encouraging continued effort toward achieving higher certification levels.
According to the organizers, the seminar serves as preparation for an international referee training course scheduled for April 2026, which will offer participants the opportunity to earn certificates qualifying them to officiate at continental and potentially international competitions.
