Cairo to Host the Jubilee African SAMBO Championships
From June 13 to 15, Cairo will host the 20th African SAMBO Championships. The Cairo International Stadium – one of the Egyptian capital's premier sporting venues – will serve as the competition arena.
Three Disciplines, One Tournament
The jubilee championships will bring together three disciplines: Sport SAMBO, Combat SAMBO, and Beach SAMBO, contested by both men and women. The competition programme spans a wide range of weight categories.
Sport SAMBO (Men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg and +98 kg
Sport SAMBO (Women): 59 kg, 65 kg and 72 kg
Combat SAMBO (Men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg and +98 kg
Combat SAMBO (Women): 59 kg, 65 kg and 72 kg
Beach SAMBO (Men): 58 kg, 71 kg, 88 kg, +88 kg
Beach SAMBO (Women): 50 kg, 59 kg, 72 kg, +72 kg
Competition Schedule
Delegations begin arriving in Cairo on June 11, when team registration and accreditation gets underway at the Jewel Glorious Hotel. June 12 is dedicated to the African SAMBO Confederation Congress, referees' meeting, technical meeting, and the first weigh-in and draw.
The Sport SAMBO and Combat SAMBO competitions will take place at the Cairo International Stadium on June 13–14. On the final day, June 15, Beach SAMBO athletes will move to Egypt's golden sands to compete for medals in this discipline.

Participation Requirements
Participation is open to national SAMBO federations affiliated with the African SAMBO Confederation. Each country may enter no more than one athlete per weight category. All athletes must be registered in the FIAS Electronic System (FIAS Database) – those without a valid database entry will not be admitted to the Championships.
All participants are required to hold international medical insurance, which will be verified at weigh-in. Athletes must compete in official FIAS-approved uniforms; a back number patch bearing the athlete's surname and country initials must be affixed to the jacket.
Awards Ceremony
Four medals will be awarded in each weight category. A podium is only possible when athletes from at least three different countries are represented in a given category – a regulation designed to promote the development of SAMBO across Africa. Champions receive medals and diplomas; the national anthem is played and the national flag raised in their honor.
Less than two weeks remain until the competition begins. Cairo is ready to welcome the strongest SAMBO athletes on the continent.
